Togetr is taking the step from System of Record to System of Action. Togetr’s Industry Agents will help employees at manufacturing companies decide what to do next. The direction is set, and for the past few weeks Daniël has been working on making it happen, every day. Time to meet him.
After ten great years with his previous employer, Daniël was ready for something new. Togetr turned out to be the right challenge at the right time: a company taking the step into AI and giving him a leading role in it. The atmosphere suits him too: “It’s not too big a company, everyone knows each other and people come into the office a lot. I like that.”
And for Togetr, he arrived right on time: the course for AI had been set and the team was looking for someone to take the lead. That is how Daniël and Togetr found each other, and neither of them could have wished for a better match.
After an extensive introduction week he got started, and it wasn’t long before there was something to show. Daniël built a proof of concept in which an AI agent reads an incoming email and creates the related activities in the Smart Manufacturing Platform by itself. This works from an AI assistant such as Copilot or Claude, and directly from the email within the application.
He deliberately started with the mailbox, because that is where the work begins at many manufacturing companies. It is a first step, and Daniël can already see where it is heading: agents that gather the context themselves from configurations, quotes, projects, planning and service history. Employees then no longer need to pull everything together before they make a decision.
Daniël also works with Togetr’s developers on ways to use AI to find and fix bugs faster, respond better to system alerts and renew the software at a higher pace. The best result is one customers won’t even notice: technical problems are prevented before they cause any trouble. And improvements become available sooner. He has plenty to do: “There’s a lot on my plate, I’m never bored for a moment.”
Who does he do it all for? Togetr’s customers. “They make very tangible products and they are all very different. I don’t know nearly all of them yet, but what I’ve seen so far is impressive.” That curiosity is exactly what this work calls for. AI for companies that build and maintain customer-specific machines only works if you understand how such a company operates.
And the future? Daniël looks beyond today: “At Togetr we are constantly looking for technology that makes the platform lighter and more flexible. And AI certainly contributes to that.”
